These are ancient religions, ancient religious traditions that have had thousands or millions of adherents. They've spun off secret societies and we have to grapple with their terminologies and our ideas because once we do everything that you're experiencing in the world that seems so crazy, so off beat actually gets simpler. We can't rely on them. There are some who have written about this and written about it well, but they're few and far between. It's not mainstream. You're stupid in scholarly circles if you dare to mention that Marx might have been a mystic instead of an economist or a social theorist. And that's because we have to understand this concept of gnosis and it's embarrassing to scholars
