The UK Bond Market Could Be a Major Turning Point
Sree: I'm just cautioning that my gut feel is that if there's a skew to the surprise for sterling and for UK assets, as grim as the picture may seem. This announcement could be a major turning point in terms of credibility, and that ultimately is what markets love. On the US side, you need to be much more careful, I think, about the risk that you're taking on the high yield bond area. You're going to see more of that happening as the US economy markedly slows down and the default rate increases.
