I grew up in a small town in Bavaria and he comes to Cambridge Mass and he feels suddenly free. I'm rather more skeptical than I think you have been about how some of that has played out both about how thoroughly it's shaped society but also perhaps about whether an over obsession with it which I think did mark the German public was ultimately helpful to building a better society. Being a Jew is still just as problematic in Mississippi as they are in parts of Germany now. You know what John's called for gun heights for basically its closest of feeling with a past has been quite important remark by somebody who's grown up in Germany as a Jew.
