Window Shades on a Plane?

I wonder if they slightly cheated and went with like, 12 frames a second instead of 24 or 30. Some people feel safer and prefer to look out the window. But there's sometimes, there can be a real pressure, and sometimes even the attendance will make you close your window shade. Where do you stand on window shades, open or closed, for the good of the many? I was going to say, is this a problem? i've never come across as being an issue.
