The Importance of Secure Accommodation for Children
Kathy Evans, Chief Executive of the Charity Children England has worked with dozens of children just like Becky. She's careful not to describe them as violent or aggressive - often they're deeply vulnerable and traumatised. Kathy explains that it's important to de-escalate children in this state by providing them with what's known as secure accommodation. But even the best secure accommodation is seen as an absolute last resort, and should be temporary solution to diffuse a crisis.
