I Want to Be Religious, but I'm Struggling to Answer the Question, Why Religion?
I was wondering if you could speak to those two ways of seeing for people who are like, I want to be religious, but I'm struggling to answer the question of why. And one thing you say in your writing, which strikes me as true too, is that religion can open up new relationships that are not available any other way or at least harder. That's a very different relationship to religion than just seeing it as human culture. It could be anything. It just happens to be religion. Not everybody has those questions. Some people are quite content with what they receive. I wasn't one of those. I think people do religion. It's something I knew that I needed and engage
