Blacksploitation - The Soundtrack
The first black sploitation movie that would become as famed for its sound track as for the film itself was shaft. Isaac hayes, who had actually auditioned for the part that ultimately went to star richard round tree, pivoted to doing the movies score instead. Hayes's version reached number 22 on the hot 100 and number five on hot soul singles tapa if it fii stadin taanno. In early 71, he had his biggest hit to date with his cover of the jackson fives then recent hit, never can say good bye.
