Darius the Great's Plan to Conquer India
Darius was constantly hurting for money, always scheduling meetings with another bald, twittering court-unick about opening a trade route or levying a new tax. He had to keep the nobles from the other six great families happy, where they'd conspire to kill him. All those stupid little wars and revolts and borders skirmishes and foreign entanglements were all very expensive. It even cost money to keep allies in check. If Darius didn't carefully award a juicy satrapy to the right power broker, they might defect Leader Rebellion.
