The Risks of Decentralized Systems

I think the benefit of a decentralized system is it's probably harder for any malicious party to take over the whole system, right? So if your first AGI has components that are owned by thousands of different parties and its knowledge bases are encrypted to the private keys. I would push back against the idea that that's safer. The problem is that we're developing all sorts of super weapons and human society seems to be degenerating in many ways rather than evolving. We don't know which approach will succeed first making AGI.
