The Role of Neural Networks in Artificial Intelligence
In the early days of computational neuroscience and artificial intelligence, they were not super separated. And this notion of neural networks is based on how real neurons work. That was the inspiration back in the 1940s. It's very interesting also the continued interaction and non-interaction between the two fields. They kind of go in and out of being in sync with each other.
