The Importance of Characters in Disaster Movies
The sinking sequence, which is at least one hour of this movie, it's like real time. James Cameron clearly knew where all of the most dramatic things happened and pretty much put at least one character in that spot. Trisha was making a point. We talked about disaster movies when we were talking with Lindsay Ellis about Independence Day and how disaster movies often have like 30 characters. And this is like a masterful, maybe the greatest disaster, it's probably the greatest disaster movie of all time.
