"There's never been a point in the history of humanity where our power hasn't outstripped our wisdom as you described it," he says. "We would need, when we are developing a new technology, to have from the start an understanding of how it's going to change our perspective and our predicament." He adds: "Sometimes the good requires us making sacrifices and choosing things that are hard but because it's good, sometimes it can be worth it".
