The Difference Between Supervised and Unsupervised Learning
Unsupervised learning is trying to understand and represent some distribution that some points you're looking at were sampled from. Supervised learning is you're trying to model a function or distribution over functions. So let's say for the classification, this is a dog or it's not a dog, that's kind of a binary valued function over the space of images. And so that gets called supervised learning. Unsupervisedlearning is where you're just trying toModel a distribution that data was sampled from.
