i think it's quite natural to thin the number of friends you had relative to when you were younger. But also, things change, right? Some of the friends that i made in high school, for example, made those friends because they happened to be in the same place. The newer ones are actually formed on, do we have the same intellectual curiosities? Or are you teaching me something new about my life or making me a better person? And that doesn't always continue with friendships.
Friendship, family, and community are indispensable to living a good life. But as we get older, it becomes more difficult to stay in touch with the people we care about. Life seems to always get in the way.
