Idolatry in a in the Prophets

Humanity stopped identifying itself as image of the creator god in the world, and began identifying itself as an image of something else within creation. Idolatry is a way for israel to say, the one that we are worshipping is the one that gives us our identity. It's the one that is greater than us. To worship the one true creator, god that is unseen, ah, gives us our dignity. That is thi this creating outside of creation entity which loads us with dignity.
