Are We Recovering Things That We Did a Long Time Ago?

The first oxygen events at 2.2 billion years ago were the result of organisms, much like us, completely transforming a planus entire future. However, it took them a half a billion years to do it, not about 150 years. So we seem to be rediscovering things that the plants did a long time ago. We're treating this precious resource also as a contaminant in the environment and figuring out ways to deal with it. It's really just a cookee world that we live in that we can't figure out.
