A Cricket Like Creature?
Fossils of an insect that looks like a cricket were found in France. On its wings there are some raised ridges, which look very similar to the ridges and nobs on modern crickets and bush crickets and katydids. The creature was not a true cricket but it does seem to be the first physical evidence of a sound making device.
