In the early 19th century, skilled tradespeople could make between five and 10 shillings for 72 hour grueling work week. By contrast, selling a fresh cadaver could net you as many as 20 guineas which is around 420 shillings. The penalty for unlawful disinterment was a small fine or up to six months in jail.
