Chavez's March to Delano
Cesar Chavez led the farm workers march from Delano California to sacramento in 1966. The labor movement had won its first major victory and it was now ready to flex its might against an even larger target. Chavas handpicked a farm worker named menuel Vasquez to carry the marchers banner one depicting the version of guadalupe an icon of mexican Catholicism he also insisted on wearing heavy work boots for the duration of the march his feet blistered but still he marched. On easter sunday 1966 chavas entered sacramento and was greeted as a hero over 8 000 supporters gathered in front of the state capitol television cameras beam the rally all over the world
