Paul Schrader's Hardcore

Snyder, Fensher and Nolan are the next major generation after Schrader and Scorsese among them. They're taking techniques that have a certain degree of kind of avant-garde origin but they're really plugging them into the fully commercial sort of Hollywood machine to make blockbusters. I mean in England they they introduced a lot of censorship over this era you know was there was their answer. In America it worked a little bit differently it kind of some of the darker elements from the 70s went into the movie underground and the B movies of the 80s while the new when the new Hollywood era ended in the 80s the studio started creating a squeaky or clean surface
