Multimodal Pain Remedy

The multimodal regimen is looking at multiple different categories of medications that have different mechanisms of action for analgesia. Lower risk medications are the ones that we scheduled the most often so those would be things like anti-inflammatories, the apopentinoids, etc. The 1 gram dose of acetaminophen has been shown to be better for analgesia while as the 650 and lower doses are better as a anti-pyrrhatic. In liver failure the recommendations are to do less than 2 grams a day so we can do 1 gram VID if they have new or rapidly evolving transaminitis sometimes we will stop tylenol.
