The Body Leads Us Astray
The image of man as the rational animal, and human exceptionalism. This is what leads us to really neglect focus on the body. There are instances where i am now consciously aware that when my gut clenches, perhaps this is actually the wrong response in a social situation. But those still remain the exceptions. For the vast majority of what my body does, it does an exceptionally good job of keeping me alive.
