Is It a Bad Idea to Ban Russian Oil?
Russia sends about five million barrels a day of crud, and that's mainly to europe. The only way we could really get at that, and the market fears, is we do iron style secondary sanctions,. We say, not only are we not going to import it, but if we see you, china, india or somebody else importing, we'll freeze your central bank out as well. So that's kind of what we did with iran, and that is what some people are calling for with regard to russian oil.
