New Zealand has gone from being relatively homogeneous in terms of cultural identity and cultural connections to being one of the most super diverse societies anywhere. The members of Asian communities are really going to grow very significantly, he says. By next decade or a bit after, about one in five of us will self-identify as Māori. And certainly here in Auckland, you'll see that probably within two decades, almost 40% of all Aucklanders willSelf- identify as member of one Asian group or another.
