Is Social Prescription a Good Thing in General Practice?
I was delighted when I discovered that we had a community garden just a couple of miles away from the practice. You can go down and watch the kingfishes at lunchtime if you want to, as well as get involved in the garden. It's got quite a lot of stress reduction, mindfulness, anxiety-reducing courses for people. The college has been really vocal on the lack of support for international medical graduates who come through GP training in the UK. Do you think umbrella organisations sponsoring newly qualified IMGGP's could solve the problem? I'm not sure if it will solve it completely, but every little bit helps, doesn't it?
