What Are Glacier Quakes?
The glacier is actually structurally quite complicated, becauseyou've got these ifferent layers that behave differently. And internal deformation near the base helps the glacier move down hill as its kind of bending and warping. Glacial quakes are sudden shifts in the glacier up to a metre in a very short period of time,. causing a local earthquake. These are not caused by plake, technotic sthedges, caused by this huge mass of ice that's sliding downhill.
