The Importance of Early Stopping in Hyperparameter Search

I think people should use it a lot more, but you know, the problem is that you don't learn as much if you don't let all the runs end. If you really want to get the best run, actually early stopping is much more important than any fancy hyperparameter search strategy. It seemed like the state of the art, but I think it's a little bit opaque. The parameters are like Greek letters and we could probably do a better job of just explaining exactly what it is and what we're doing to our users.
