What Is the History of Time and the Concept of Empire?
The acadian empire was founded by sargon of acad around 23 hundred b c. It lasted for just about a hundred years, not all that long in the sweep of mesopotamian history. Alexander the great's conquests almost exactly two thousand years after the beginning of the acadian emp sargon remained the model empire builder in the whole region. Think about that for a moment. That two thousand year period is almost as long as alexander has been our prototype model for a conqueror. That's a heck of a legacy.
