The Bradycardia Algorithm
The organisations out there which produce our life support guidance all thankfully have an algorithm to help us manage those patients with bradycardia. The first thing, as we've said already, is to do a good thorough assessment using an A to E approach. We're going to be getting some IV access and giving some oxygen if it is appropriate for that patient and they need it. And the third thing will be to get some observations and to get of course a critical 12 lead ECG if we can get one and we've got time. It's worth saying here that there are some very subtle differences in the terminology that the people who create those guidance use on this.
