I don't think that the only meaningful classical music is super dark and weepy either. But, i mean, we should also point out that comic opera is funny because we are seeing the absurdity of life made beautiful as well. The verities requiem example is always an absolute knockout to me, not despite those ideas, but because of them. These are times when your life wars probably going to be brief and unpleasant. And you're like, how could this be it? How can this be all there is? Surely god has a standard for what he wants us to do with our lives after death right? Where would i fit in there? Because i think god likely has a standard too
