I think there might be a little bit, I mean, at least Barty Crutch Sr., I think understands that vulnerability because of how strict he was on Winky and wanting to make sure she did never reveal that information. But I think part of the reason that wizards like historically did oppress and enact violence on households is because they were maybe aware of that a little bit. Certainly, as we kind of learn later, aware that elves have a lot of their own magical power. And so having to beat them down at least enough that they wouldn't use that power against the wizards, I think definitely comes out.
