Greeks often thought of as people who were hesitant about a innovation. E, i'd love to go into that so specific but it was much more complex than that. Over a period of 500 years in which dozens, possibly hundreds, of innovations took place. There seems to be a bit of a paradox in the notion that these things emerged somehow despite greeks not wanting there to be anything new.
