There's this estimate by that by like, a couple o years from now, there's going to be a hundred thousand satellites in space. The things are in free fall, generally around 17 thousand miles per hour. You can't really track them if they're big enough. If you have one satellite creating shrapnel, and you no longer have the ability to control that shrapnel, it's going everywhere. This reminds me of a scene in an interstellar ye where all the shrapnel arrives and it tears a hole in the spaceship and the space station,. Ye, ye.
This week we're back with another special episode! David comes on to lead Marques and Andrew through a discussion about internet for all via Starlink satellites and some of the effects it can have on astronomy and observers of the night sky. It's a big topic but also a fun discussion with plenty of expert interviews.
