What Was the Character of Wolstan's Law?
The law of wolstan and his contemporaries did actually survive the norman conquest. The kings were aware that canute had been a previous conqueror of england, and not that long ago, was only kind of just out of living memory. So they ostentatiously followed the law of canute and sort of said, we can hae followed canute's laws, which was wolstan's law. And so aspects of that law kind of continued after the conquest.
