The Gallant Endeavor is a fictional depiction of the Blue Cockatoo, which was England's first Bistro. The restaurant no longer exists, but if anyone knows for sure that this is the restaurant Agatha Christie was referencing, I would love to hear it all about the name of gmail.com. And doesn't it make sense that Mr. Parker Pine, heart specialist, would be dining in such an establishment? It can so easily see this opening up as a Parker Pine short story.
