In the military, you're not allowed to ask somebody they're gay. But if you do ask them, you have to tell basically, like, "Your your" Gossip can be a really instrumental tool in constructing social identity and exclusion. It represents this form of solidarity amongst gay people but it also represents an anxiety for the heterosexual dominant structures that seek to control it.
