The Marina and the Hermitage, a Book Review

The narrator lives with a friend, brother otho, who was his companion in war and now works with him in intellectual pursuits. They spend their days studying flora, clarifying and classifying plants they find in the lands about this is a continuation of the work of unnamed others who came before them. The villain of this story is the chief r ger, a political actor. His precise position is never stated, but he is implicitly a military chieftain and explicitly a despot who has arisen in the forest at the campagna.
