The Cambodian Genocide
Cambodia is the entry point of American consciousness to Southeast Asia. The country's leader, Paul Pot, was responsible for a genocide that left 1.7 million people dead. Some believe U.S. carpet bombing campaign helped bring about Khmer Rouge regime. Phan Phan has been Prime Minister since 1985; he and Washington have frosty relationship at moment.
