The Importance of a Quietness in Justification

In the Middle Ages we have a kind of feeling that a guston's vocabulary of grace of justification actually well we know what he means but imprecise. For other theologians like William of Ockham in the later Middle Ages what Aquinas is doing here is actually introducing something which doesn't really seem to be necessary. Luther was quite influenced by that and felt that god could do this directly without the need for that so I think what we see here is an entirely understandable desire to try and kind of way make more sense of a gustum.
