How a Young Man Was Diagnosed With Type 1 Diabetes in His Adolescence
A young man was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the middle of his adolescence at around 15 years old. His parents struggled to get their heads around it and they desperately wanted to support him. It actually became a real tool of destruction in the family dynamics, he says. He is introduced to us in the adult service along with our adult nursing colleagues. What we found worked best for him after discussing it with him was an independent consulting situation.
