Sifo was borrowing im against another token that they were getting paid in, swapping that mim magic money for tether and then presumably selling it. There is a conspiracy going around that there was a plant or someone inside the defi system that knew how important magic internet money was,. And that that's why it was mentioned by congress during their congressional hearing. But like you said, these transcripts are unverified. Until there's verification about them, you just can't take them as reality.
