The Use of Keywords for Automatic Resource Disposal
I saw two unrelated tweets about language features that are in stage three and that are actually being implemented. The first proposal is called the using keyword for automatic resource disposal. And it has to do with objects that have a lifetime or a time span associated with them. Now you might think why do we need to explicitly control object the lifetime? I mean, don't we have the garbage collection for that? And doesn't the garbage collector automatically dispose of such resources? And the answer is that it does or it can. But the problem is with the garbage collector that you don't really have any control about when it runs.
