Tate World is that breaking free of the matrix is akin to a spiritual awakening. This distortion, common among conspiratulists and QAnon proponents, allows Tate to foster the idea he's the hero of the real world. We can't ignore his not entirely wrong indictment of extractive capitalism. If we're wondering why he appeals to young men, we have to own that his diagnosis is not off base even if his cures are cruel and illegal.
