There's at least a non zero probability that if our civilization survives the next thousand years, then all the dangers are behind us. There is just no chance thof these sort of exaginous events along. And so we'll survive until the death of the universe or something. But then we're sort ofd back to these worries about fanaticism, right? So much of the expected value of axitential risk preduction is coming from this maybe very improbable hypothesis of unlimited persistence.
