The Case of Jesus De Galindo
As early as 1958, the CIA station chief in Dominican Republic got him Lear Reid and several Dominicans plotted an assassination plot of Trujillo. This is documented in William Blum's Killing Hope. The National Security Council gave consideration to a program of covert aid to these anti-Trujillo people. Kennedy says there are three possibilities in descending order of preference, a decent democratic regime, a continuation of the Trujillo regime, or a Castro regime.
