The Importance of Milton Friedman
Milton Friedman was a huge influence on me as a kid. And in particular, the book Free to Choose came out right when I was starting college and everything. So all of a sudden I had this huge shift in appreciation of Hayek because I was no longer reading them to find out what Hayek's policy position was. It was like, oh my god, this guy is amazing.
