Bavink's Newspaper Writings - Is That Really True?
Bavink does have quite an extended positive statement on this but it's just very annoying that this didn't make it into the domatics. I think of a parallel you know Thomas Aquinas writes the Sumatia Logier largely to try and recapture clerical training so that priests and confession booths know how to have a Christ-centered response. That's not just what we might call legalistic behavior modification, he says in those newspaper articles is the beatific vision. The climax of our salvation is that we contemplate God with the soul and with the eyes of the heart and the essence of God which Bavink calls "the beating spirit"
