Painting Still Life Without a Brush

If you're a painter setting up your own still life make sure that you have an actual hard light. As painters we're studying light and we need to study it take notes on it paint it depreciate it be obsessed with it in all its manifestations at all times. I like to say that you can practice your painting without even being in the studio or having a brush in your hand just by being out in the world and squinting a lot. You might get some funny looks from people but as I'm going around my daily life I often play this game that I call what's the lightest thing that I can see right now  and I will ask myself that especially
