Private Equity and Venture Capital - What's the Difference?

Private equity is typically a late stage company that's making money or at least has revenue. The other part of the private markets is venture capital where you have people who started company in garage. It's much less systemic though because larger established companies like pension funds, insurance companies aren't necessarily massive investors in VC. In terms of VC specifically, I think already it's going through a major, major correction as tech has been hit massively.
