Did You Keep Any of the Servos From the Robot?
The actual design work for the robot was based on some of the servo noises that I had heard from the production slate and so yes they did inform to a degree the way things would go for me. For the actual design work I used a motor from a microwave turntable which makes a very high pitch zizz you know when you twist it but the motors in the production slates actually were quite similarso there was a particular scene where mother and daughter having an intimate conversation across a table with Luke's suit, we cleaned up that track as much as we could. But then we ended up needing to put some of the noise back in in very specific points in between lines of dialogue just
